Fountains Abby
Tried out the D800 in very low light. Very impressed with the ISO capabilities (maybe even better than the d700). These shots were hand held so I’m not looking at sharpness just yet. Popped a 16gb card into the slot and almost fainted! Just 200 shots available. The file sizes are huge. The processing process is also longer and I’ll maybe need to alter the work flow from the d700. I did like the idea of having to think more about composition and each shot due to only having limited space on the card. Almost like shooting film! This can only be a good thing!
Fountains Abbey is approximately three miles south west of Ripon in North Yorkshire, England, near to the village of Aldfield. Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for over 400 years, until 1539, when Henry VIII ordered the Dissolution of the Monasteries. It is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England.
